Getting me and my wheelchair

in & out the FK9 Paraplegic

01-Rolling on rough terrain (always in balance)

02-Positioning close to the door

03-Lifting my weight (60kg) into the cockpit
Bars in the cockpit's roof are lifting points.

04-Pulling these legs inside

05-My Roho Quadtro cushion ALSO is protecting
me inside the cockpit. (anti-decubitus)

06-Putting the Roho cushion under my "but".

07-Folding the seat on my Küschall K4 Airlite Pro

08-Turning the K4 on it's side to unmount the right wheel

09-Taking in the right wheel of my K4 (1kg)

10-Putting the wheel into the luggage compartment.

11-Turning the chair on it's other side ...

12-To access the left wheel

13- ... to put it behind the seats too

14-Lifting in the K4 frame and seat.

15-Unmounting the first of 5 quick dismountable bolts (foot rest)

16-Unmounting the 2 winged bolts holding the front part of the seat on the frame (takes about 1 minute for both of them)

17-Unmounting the 2 winged bolts holding the back part of the seat on the frame (these bolts also release the carbon wheel shaft)

18- Seat and frame are not linked anymore and can be
put into the lugage comp apart. (1 min)

19-Putting the folded seat away behind the seats too

20-There is plenty of room left for the frame and some hand luggage.

21-The carbon wheel shaft is dismounted in a second

22- ... and we end up with 2 apart frame tubes .

23- ... which fits easily into the free space left behind the seats.

These are all parts that are stored behind the seats, forming together a wheelchair K4 Airlite. Remark the quick dismountable bolts and nuts (winged) in front of the parts. These are the ones I have to loosen to obtain the result depicted above.  Winglet bolts & nuts can easily be loosened / tightened by hand without needing any mechanical tools.

Getting out of the Plane and back into the wheelchair.
(mounting the wheelchair is acc. to inverted procedure)

01-Bars in cockpit roof are good holding points.

02- ... and the wheel chair serves as a  good hand rest too

03-Back on earth again :-)
Getting in the plane and storing the wheelchair
behind the seats takes about 5 minutes. I don't need any
help at any time. (SOLO X-country is POSSIBLE @ ease!)

Getting out of the plane and back in the (re)mounted
wheelchair takes about 7 minuts.

In case of distress I don't need the wheelchair and
make a DIRECT transfer to the ground to abandon
the A/C ASAP. (Takes about 3 seconds to get out and
about 5 more seconds to move me about 10m away
from the (e.g. burning) Aircraft.
